Michael Axelsson

Tenor

Michael Axelsson studied at the University College of Opera and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Since his debut as Don Curzio in the Marriage of Figaro at Drottningholms Slottsteater in 2006, Michael has sung a wide variety of roles ranging from the Mozart repertoire like Tamino in the Magic Flute and Ferrando in Cosí fan tutte, over Bel canto roles like Conte Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia and Ernesto in Don Pasquale, to character roles like Kolomán Zsupán in the Operetta Gräfin Mariza and Remendado in Carmen.

His Lieder repertoire spans whole cycles and songs by Britten, Schubert, Schumann, Strauss, Tosti, Stenhammar, Peterson-Berger, Alfvén, Nordqvist and Sjögren. The music of Benkamin Britten has a special place in Michaels heart, starting from an early age when he sang the main role in the childrens opera The Golden Vanity, as well as the Cat Jeoffry in Rejoice in the Lamb and later Miles in The Turn of the Screw. As an adult he has performed for instance Serenade, Saint Nicolas, Canticle I and II, and Winter Words, and recently also Flute in the opera A Midsummer Night's Dream at The Royal Swedish Opera.

Per Skareng

Guitar

After receiving his soloist diploma and debuting in 1985 with Rodrigo's "Concierto de Aranjuez", and after a series of successes at international guitar competitions, Per Skareng has established himself as one of the leading guitarists in the Nordic countries.

Per Skareng's CDs on the Caprice label, such as "El Colibri" and "Café 1930", have received great attention. He performs regularly as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral musician, including in the Royal Court Orchestra and the Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.

"Extraordinarily sensitive musicality. His handling of the instrument is direct and intimate, apart from the great technical skill."
